Watch the moderated panel discussion exploring the powerful impact the Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant have had on the understanding of a pivotal period in American history. Our panel will discuss Grant as a writer and how his personal experiences shaped his perception of the war. We will evaluate Grant’s writing career and those who influenced it, while tackling some debates surrounding the true authorship and accuracy of his memoirs. In this program, we hope to shed some light on the great influence one man’s short literary career had on American history. To provide a truly interactive experience, in addition to moderator questions, we will set aside time for the audience to ask their own questions of the panelists.
