Grant Remembrance Day featuring Dr. John H. Douglas – Steve Trimm, Mark Twain – Kevin O’Brien, Little Julia – Delilah Robinson, Nellie (Grant) Sartoris – Trinity Horne, and Mrs. (Josephine) John H. Douglas– Jessica Jenks. Two historic hymns from the Aug.4, 1885 Mt. McGregor funeral service, hosted by your MC Mr. Ben Kemp. This program premiered on the same day of Grant’s death, 135 years ago.

Music in Grant’s Time by musician (and Grant Cottage tour guide) Tom Smith. A song-filled trip through the 19th Century.
Votes for Women by Kim Harvish, Sandi Rhodes, Frieda Toth, and Tisha Dolton. Celebrating the centennial of women obtaining the right to vote.
Memoirs and Memory: US Grant’s Literary Legacy – Discussing the Impact of the Personal Memoirs moderated panel discussion.

One Real American: The Life of Ely S. Parker Seneca Sachem and Civil War General by Joseph Bruchac. A program about Grant’s friend, Civil War staff secretary, and first Native American Commissioner of Indian Affairs, Ely Parker. This program was made possible by Saratoga Arts Community Arts Grant.
Two Sergeants The stories of Sergeants Clarke and Gantter will be presented by Steve Trimm, Grant Cottage tour guide, and Ray Gantter’s nephew. The stories of Sergeants Clarke and Gantter will be told in their own words. Their dual accounts will prove that uncommon heroism, paralyzing fear and the struggle to maintain one’s humanity in battle unite veterans of all wars in all eras.

Our Land: stories and songs from the traditions of the Native Peoples of the Saratoga region by Joe Bruchac. A program and performance on the area’s Native American culture through storytelling and song. This program was made possible by Saratoga Arts Community Arts Grant.
John Henry and the Baltimore’s of Troy presented by Clifford Oliver Mealy. A program on the John Henry and Baltimore families. Our last and final program of the 2020 season is a NYS Path Through History program. This program was made possible by Saratoga Arts Community Arts Grant.
