Memberships are an important resource for Grant Cottage. A membership entitles you to:
- A year’s free admission at the Cottage

Become a tour guide!
Tour guides lead visitors through the few open rooms open to the public in the cottage, focusing on the final days of the general’s life. Training, a detailed lesson plan, and supplemental material is provided to all volunteers, thus applicants need not have substantial background knowledge of the material.This is a voluntary, on-call position--the hours and days are very flexible. The Cottage is open Wednesday to Sunday, Memorial Day through Labor Day. And open weekends from Labor Day through Columbus Day.
Other volunteer positions are available at the Cottage and the Visitor’s Center including:
- gift shop assistance
- special events
- parking
- graphics design
- maintenance/caretaking
